LAURA

COL. SELBY

LAURA

And if their questions had produced no information, they would have indulged in surmises.

LAURA

I am to understand then that in running away you performed a magnanimous act?

COL. SELBY

It was an act that saved your honor at some sacrifice to my own.

LAURA
